THIS IS ONE MEAN 53 WILLYS, AND IT WAS AN EVERYDAY DRIVER FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS. IT'S GOT A EARLY FORD "429" WITH THE C6 TRANNY BEHIND IT, THE 53 TRUCK CAB AND BED ARE SITTING ON A SHORTENED 1980 FULL-SIZE BRONCO CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION WITH POWER DISC BRAKES UP FRONT AND A POSI REAR END. IT HAS POWER STEERING TO HELP TURN THOSE BIG 35" x 12.50 MEATY LUGGED TIRES MOUNTED ON NICE 15 INCH SOLID FACED ALLOY WHEELS. THE BRUTE ''429'' IS CARBURETED--EDELBROCK 4 BBL--AND HAS A MILD CAM WITH A MILD HIGH RISE EDELBROCK INTAKE W/PORTED AND POLISHED HEADS AND A ROLLER ROCKER VALVE-TRAIN---BELIEVE ME THERE'S NO WANT FOR MORE TORQUE AND/OR POWER WITH THIS BRUTE OF A WILLYS PICK-UP. IT'S FED BY A FUEL CELL IN THE BED AND ENERGIZED BY THE BATTERY LOCATED IN THE BED ....AND IF TIME PERMITS BEFORE THIS SELLS WE PLAN TO RELOCATE THE FUEL CELL AND THE BATTERY TO A LOCATION BENEATH THE BED. THE BED FRAME AND BED SUPPORTS ARE SOLID BUT THE ORIGINAL BED FLOOR HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A PIECE OF THREE-QUARTER INCH PLYWOOD. THE CAB AND BED ARE VERY SOLID WITH ONLY MINOR MINOR RUST LOCATED AT THE TAILGATE HINGE AREA---AT EACH END. THE CAB FLOORBOARDS ARE SOLID ALSO AS IS THE ORIGINAL PEDESTAL THAT THE SEATS ARE MOUNTED ON. THE ORIGINAL BENCH SEAT IS GONE AND IN ITS PLACE ARE TWO RACING BUCKETS WITH SEATBELTS. THERE IS NO TAILGATE AT THIS TIME... BUT THAT MAY CHANGE IF TIME PERMITS BEFORE THIS WILLYS SELLS. THE LIGHTS AND BLINKERS WORK AS DO ALL OF THE ORIGINAL GAUGES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE GAS GAUGE. THE WINDSHIELD IS THE SPLIT WINDSHIELD TYPE AND AT PRESENT TIME THERE IS NO CENTER DIVIDER BETWEEN THE TWO PIECES OF GLASS. THE REAR GLASS IS GOOD AS IS THE DRIVERS DOOR GLASS AND VENT WINDOW GLASS, BUT THE PASSENGER GLASS HAS A CRACKED GLASS AND CRACKED WING WINDOW. THE TWO CRACKED GLASSES ARE COMPLETELY INTACT, AS THEY ARE LAMINATED GLASS. THE FRONT BUMPER IS STRAIGHT AND SOLID AND AT THIS TIME THERE IS NO REAR BUMPER.
